MenuBeacon product

Connect restaurant events without vague “POS sync” claims

Send signed outbound webhooks for supported restaurant events, inspect delivery logs, rotate secrets, and import a Square catalog into MenuBeacon through a one-way connection.

Webhooks are Pro in supported markets and allow up to 3 HTTPS endpoints per restaurant. Square is a one-way catalog import—not order sync or write-back.

Outbound webhooks

Subscribe HTTPS endpoints to supported order, payment, service, rating, and reservation events.

Signed deliveries

Verify HMAC-SHA256 signatures and rotate the endpoint secret when needed.

Square catalog import

Bring Square catalog data into MenuBeacon and re-sync it in one direction.

An integration page should say exactly what moves where

MenuBeacon exposes specific outbound events and a specific Square catalog import. That clarity helps technical teams decide whether the connection matches the job.

Useful building blocks with verifiable boundaries

Webhook deliveries use HMAC-SHA256 signing and include test, logging, retry, and secret-rotation workflows. Public menu, status, and widget endpoints are available, but a full management API is not promised.

How it works

Connect the event, then observe the delivery

The integration controls live beside the restaurant they represent.

  1. 1

    Choose supported events

Select the restaurant events the external system needs.

  2. 2

    Add an HTTPS endpoint

Configure one of up to three webhook destinations for the restaurant.

  3. 3

    Test and verify

Send a test, validate its HMAC signature, and inspect delivery logs.

  4. 4

    Monitor retries and rotate

Use delivery history and secret rotation as the connection evolves.

Webhook event families

Use only the events your integration needs.

  • Order creation, status, and cancellation
  • Payment, refund, waiter-call, and rating
  • Reservation creation

Square scope

The Square connection has one clear direction.

  • Catalog import and re-sync into MenuBeacon
  • No order synchronization
  • No MenuBeacon write-back to Square

Use it where it removes a real handoff

  • Notify an internal system about new orders
  • Process supported events with a signed endpoint
  • Use an existing Square catalog to start a MenuBeacon menu

Straight answers

Restaurant Integrations questions

Does MenuBeacon sync orders with Square?

No. The current Square connection imports and re-syncs catalog data into MenuBeacon. Orders are not synchronized and MenuBeacon does not write back.

How are webhooks secured?

Deliveries are signed with HMAC-SHA256. Endpoints must use HTTPS, and the secret can be rotated.

How many webhook endpoints can I add?

Up to 3 endpoints can be configured per restaurant.

Is there a full restaurant management API?

A full authenticated management API is not currently promised. Public endpoints focus on menu, status, and widget use cases.
